Fellowship of Christian Athletes – The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.  www.fca.org

In prior years we have given donations to Feed the Hungry Foundation  www.feedthehungryfoundation.com  and The HopeBuilders http://www.halftimereport.org/oct05.htm.

Feed the Hungry – Feed the Hungry provides more than 1,000,000 meals annually throughout the city of Atlanta and surrounding counties. Every week volunteers from local churches deliver boxes of food from Feed the Hungry, making their collective mission two-fold: helping people in a time of need and spreading the word of God at the same time! Currently the Foundation offers a food box designed to feed a family of four for a week. Each box also contains referral information, and most importantly, a Bible. While they strive to feed the families we serve with food, they hope to provide them spiritual nourishment for a lifetime.

The Foundation also offers job assistance through its Cumberland Job Bank. This service if offered to anyone who is looking for a job. If you have a job opening, please contact their Job Bank Director, Kimberly Tworek at (770) 980-1550 Ext 11 Tuesday – Thursday and she will endeavor to fill your opening. There is never a charge for their services, however they are dependant on your support to keep the Foundation open.

The HopeBuilders  – The HopeBuilders are an outreach ministry of Mariners Church in Orange County California that “builds hope” by improving the physical living conditions of needy families and individuals.

In the first nine months of starting the ministry founder Cliff Ratkovich and 150 volunteers were cheering (and, truth be known, crying) as the 11 members of the Arancivia family exited a van and wept at the sight of their newly remodeled home. Prior to its extreme makeover, the 1600 square foot house, where generations of Arancivias had lived and loved, sported a weary single-sink bathroom, a leaky roof, crumbling walls, a kitchen with “Fire Hazard” written all over it, and numerous other repair needs. To the amazement of all, Hopebuilders volunteers, funded by private donations and corporate sponsors, had completed $150,000 worth of structural remodeling and interior decorating in just 10 short days.

In addition to the first major makeover, HopeBuilders volunteers have completed mini-makeovers for disadvantaged college students, a 60-resident women’s homeless shelter, and the Orange Country Chapter of Teen Challenge, which houses 20 male residents who are working hard to get off drugs and alcohol.  In addition, the ministry has begun building a houses in South African squatter camps, where living conditions are deplorable.

Lastly, HopeBuilders provides a monthly gift to help Habitat for Humanity to build simple, decent, affordable homes with families in need.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
